Oh Meryl !

Meryl Streep will surely top everyone's list of their all-time favourite actress. Her depth and attention to details show her intense dedication to her craft. I first saw Meryl in the Dustin Hoffman-starrer Kramer vs. Kramer. Although her part was short, she bagged the Best Supporting Trophy in that year's Academy Awards. Her acting revelation was in Sophie's Choice, where she lost weight, shaved her hair and acquired a Polish accent. That remarkable transformation earned her 2nd Oscar trophy for Best Actress! My friends and I were all blown away by that brilliant film. She went on to make more films where she further affirmed her status as the 'Chameleon Of The Cinema". Personally, I thought she was getting a bit predictable with her dramatic roles. Then came She-Devil, a movie that made me love her more. Her comedic timing and hilarious portrayal of an uptight, husband-stealing romance novelist made the movie worth watching over and over again (at least for me). Now, here's a list of my favourite Meryl Streep films. I have to admit I did miss out some of her films, but the ones I saw are enough for me to canonize as a Cinema Saint.
