Scottish emo stargazers Frightened Rabbit are gearing up to release the follow-up to The Midnight Organ Fight, Pitchfork's 33rd favorite album of 2008. On March 9 in the U.S. (March 1 in the UK), FatCat will release The Winter of Mixed Drinks, Frabbit's third album. Mixed Drinks was produced and mixed by Peter Katis (Interpol, the National), who also worked on The Midnight Organ Fight. It features string arrangements by FatCat labelmate Hauschka. First single "Swim Until You Can't See Land" is out now digitally, with a 7" out this coming Tuesday, December 8. The second single, "Nothing Like You", is out February 22 in the UK. For their live shows, the band has added a new member, Gordon Skene, formerly of Make Model. Frightened Rabbit are on the road in the UK right now, opening for Modest Mouse. They'll hit the U.S. in the spring for a tour following SXSW.
