Mumford & Sons dish up a rather hearty serving of warm folk-pie with debut LP ‘Sigh No More’. From the ravishing choruses that rattle the heart to the rustic yet romantic urges in Marcus Mumford’s call, ‘Sigh No More’ will woo not just purveyors of post-Fleet Foxes folk but those who simply dig a fine jolly tune. Soul-stirring and for much of the time uplifting, the bangs of their banjo and euphoric bluegrass beats make this lot’s trade seem untouchable, from the swooning harmonies in ‘White Blank Page’ and the slow-building ‘Awake My Soul’. This crew have much more to come.
